Winter Break!

I haven't posted anything for several days but as you can see I haven't been home, in Missouri. A couple of close friends, my husband and I have been on a short winter vacation – skiing at Copper Mountain, Colorado! Many runs down the slope, 15 beautiful trails, 3 minor falls, but no real “yard sales” (that’s what the locals call a real wipe-out where you lose all of your skiing equipment) – it was awesome! The first half of the first day was absolutely beautiful with lovely Lapis blue skies!

After the first day we didn’t see much of the sun, but lots of snow instead (about 8 inches of fresh powder fell in the three days we were there). The weather was comfortable for the most part - temperatures were cold but bearable.

The cold fresh air against our faces, the soft powdery snow underneath our skis, and the rhythmic swishing back and forth down the slope was a welcome change to our regular routine. We are already planning ahead to our next snow skiing adventure.
